Driver ID Validation Resource Guide

Verify Driver Identity at Check-In

Driver ID Validation adds an extra layer of security to your facility by confirming driver identity during check-in. Built on top of Gate Management, this feature ensures that the person entering your facility matches a valid, verified ID.

How Driver ID Validation Works
  1. Driver begins check-in
    • Standard check-in flow (QR code or tablet)
  2. ID verification is triggered
    • Driver is prompted to verify their identity before completing check-in
  3. Driver submits ID
    • Selects ID type (e.g., driver’s license, government ID)
    • Takes a photo of the ID using their phone or device
  4. System validates identity
    • Verification runs instantly based on your configured rules
    • Optional facial recognition compares ID photo to the driver
  5. Driver is approved and checked in
    • Once verified, check-in is completed as normal
Configure Driver ID Validation
  • Navigate to ID Validation settings
Path: Warehouse → Settings → Gate Management → ID Validation
  • Enable ID Validation
  • Choose whether ID validation is:
    • Required for check-in
    • Optional (recommended for phased rollout)
Customize Validation Rules

During setup, configure what types of IDs and validations are accepted:

  • Select supported ID types (driver’s license, government ID, etc.)
  • Define countries you want to support
  • Choose validation attributes (40+ available via Persona)
  • Enable optional facial recognition for added security

Tip: Start with a simple validation setup, then expand based on your compliance or security requirements.

Driver Experience
  • Drivers complete ID verification directly on their phone
  • The process adds only a few seconds to check-in
  • Returning drivers can use a saved Persona profile for faster verification
  • Works globally across most countries
Best Practices for Adoption
  • Start with ID validation as optional, then move to required once teams are comfortable
  • Clearly communicate expectations in carrier instructions before arrival
  • Use signage at the gate to explain the ID verification step
  • Enable facial recognition for high-security facilities
  • Test the flow internally before rolling out to carriers
When to Use Driver ID Validation

This feature is especially valuable for:

  • High-security facilities
  • Regulated industries (food, pharma, government)
  • Facilities with frequent identity or fraud concerns
  • Operations requiring audit trails and compliance documentation
Operational Impact
  • Confirms the correct driver is entering your facility
  • Reduces risk of unauthorized access
  • Strengthens compliance and audit readiness
  • Adds verified identity data to your gate records
Goal

Ensure every driver entering your facility is verified, improving security, compliance, and confidence in your gate operations.
